The project partners in the SofDCar consortium are conducting research into the central challenges of software-based vehicles. The focus is on the development of software that optimises and expands vehicle functionalities. The vehicle of the future is understood as part of a networked vehicle and system environment, the integration of which is to be made possible by means of a "data loop" and on the basis of a new type of "digital twin". This should enable digital sustainability (of existing and future vehicle generations) as well as effective data utilisation and innovative use cases across the entire life cycle of the vehicle (re-deployment).
