Girls‘ Day 2024

On Girls' Day 2024, 5 schoolgirls came to our "Applied Technical Cognitive Systems" research group to get an insight into how we came to our profession, where you get to "play" with robots. First we did a short introductory round and then Helen and Ferdi told them how each ATKS group member had a different path to the same profession and what opportunities are open to the students. Afterwards, everyone was allowed to steer the robot dog through a parkour using an app, without leaving the mats, avoiding the obstacles and jumping over holes. As a snack in between, we made a little detour to the lower floor to get waffles from the manager girls. At the end, the robot dog was allowed to run the parkour at the touch of a button using visual programming. The students had learned what paths there are to our profession, that robots do not necessarily always end up in the same place with the same starting point and the same programming and that a short trip to the "colleagues" can be a nice little break.
